I noticed sometime back a thread about the price of the map updates from NAVTEQ. They want $199.00 plus $9.95 for shipping and handleing. I, as well as many others find this to be a little high. Because my wife has a 2010 Explorier and I'm waiting delivery of a 2011 Flex, both with the nav system, I contacted NAVTEQ to find out if I would have to purchase two updates or could I use one for both cars. I brought up this subject with my Ford dealer and they were surprised that I would have to pay for map updates. After they researched it they agreed with what I told them. Because, as NAVTEQ says, 'the units Key code' they could not install a copy they would buy.
I think it's time for Ford owners to express their dissatisfaction with NAVTEQ.
